The project started in 1993, with the Idea to spread the concept of Commercial Horticulture in the State. It is a Joint venture of Kumoun Mandal Vikas Nigam , dedicated for the development of Small Hill farmers of Uttarakhand.
It brought awareness to Hill farmers to grow Flowers and Vegetables in Green Houses, that has now been percolated in generations. With almost 2300 Green Houses installed, Plantiss Agro-tech is being credited to spread the concept of Green House and commercial Floriculture in the Uttarakhand. By associating 150 small Hill farmers for commercial Production of Flowers and Vegetable, successfully made a strong impact on their financial growth with Adoption of New Technology.
The Project is Producing 5 lakhs Potted plants every year, and almost 3 lakhs plants alone of Gerbera through Tissue Culture Propagation. With continuous Breeding Program 25 Cultivers of Gerbera has been developed, which are accepted Internationally.
